Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night shift assignment in Illinois. This is a blended Med Surg unit that also supports a thriving Swing Bed Program and occasionally manages PCU-level patients. Assignments are balanced according to patient acuity and nursing workload.
Patient Ratios:
- Med Surg: 1:5
- Swing Bed: 1:5-6
- PCU: 1:3-4 (depending on drips and acuity)
Nurses with only Med Surg experience are welcome, and supportive supervisors assist with patient assignments. The facility is recognized as a Pathway to Excellence organization, promoting quality patient care, safety, collaboration, and a positive work environment.
Schedule
- 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call duties
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN License
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- ACLS Certification
- NIHSS Certification
- Active state license at time of submission
Preferred Experience
Experience in:
- Medical-Surgical Nursing
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Swing Bed/Rehabilitation Patients
- Acute Care Hospital Settings
