Registered Nurse (RN) – Observation / Med-Surg / Telemetry
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Shift: Evening/Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an Observation Unit assignment. The selected candidate will primarily work in the Observation department and must be comfortable floating to various Medical-Surgical units, including Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac, and other compatible units as needed. Candidates may also be required to assist in the Emergency Department if appropriately skilled.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in an Observation Unit setting.
- Monitor and assess patients with a variety of medical conditions.
- Interpret and respond appropriately to telemetry monitoring.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Float to other Med-Surg specialties based on staffing needs.
- Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, quality standards, and patient safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of recent/current Med-Surg and Telemetry experience.
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills (candidates will be competency tested).
- Current Epic EMR proficiency required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Ability to work every other weekend.
- Holiday coverage required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in Observation Units.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different patient populations and care environments.
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
- Previous floating experience across Med-Surg specialties.
Important Notes
- Unless the nurse is a returning traveler within the last 9 months, the available start date is September 21, 2026.
- Telemetry competency is mandatory and will be assessed upon onboarding.
- Epic proficiency is required and must be documented during submission.
- All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS/BCLS (Basic Life Support)
