Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Med/Surg to provide high-quality patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will coordinate and direct nursing care while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, including:

  • Pediatric patients
  • Adult patients
  • Post-surgical patients
  • Behavioral health patients

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments every 24 hours.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively.
  • Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management.
  • Utilize therapeutic communication techniques, including management of behavioral health patients.
  • Supervise and coordinate patient care activities in collaboration with Charge Nurses and support staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program approved by the National League for Nursing (NLN).
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
  • Ability to maintain all required competencies for the position.

Preferred Experience

  • Strong experience in both Adult and Pediatric Med/Surg settings.
  • Previous inpatient nursing experience preferred.
  • Behavioral health patient management experience is a plus.

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing process and patient care management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing patient care needs.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with standard office and medical equipment.

Additional Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation required.
  • Must be willing to work flexible day or night shifts.
  • Ability to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
