NEW Permanent RN CVOR Circulator opening near Charleston, SC!
**Job Summary:**
The CVOR Registered Nurse will deliver professional surgical nursing care to patients using the nursing process, collaborating with the heart team, including physicians, to ensure quality healthcare. They will assume responsibility for effective communication with surgical technologists, other Registered Nurses, surgeons, patients, families, and other surgical team members.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide assistance in emergency, elective, and scheduled procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families.
- Organize supplies needed for patients.
- Assess patients before, during, and after surgery and maintain a sterile operating room.
- Perform count procedures and interventions to prevent unintended retained foreign objects and ensure correct site, side, and level.
- Maintain patients' physiological systems and fluid balance during surgery.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Involve patients or designated support persons in decisions regarding post-operative care and rehabilitation.
**Qualifications:**
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; active Compact/Multi-State RN license preferred.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in CVOR nursing required.
