We’re seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse for a full-time, permanent placement with a leading regional healthcare system. This high-acuity hospital serves as a major referral center in the Shenandoah Valley region and offers an advanced surgical environment, including cardiac, vascular, and specialty procedures.

Your Role

  • Advocate for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery

  • Perform patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management

  • Assist with patient positioning and ensure comfort/safety throughout all phases of surgery

  • Provide accurate care and handling of specimens and enforce strict asepsis

  • Demonstrate competency in the use of specialized surgical equipment (surgical beds, electrocautery, suction, video, positioning devices, point-of-care testing)

  • Monitor and confirm equipment readiness during surgeries

  • Complete and maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR

  • Inventory all countable items pre- and post-surgery to ensure safety

  • Maintain integrity of the sterile field; select and handle instruments, passing them to the surgeon as needed

  • Float to non-cardiac specialties when not assigned to cardiac cases
