Your Role
-
Advocate for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery
-
Perform patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management

Assist with patient positioning and ensure comfort/safety throughout all phases of surgery

Provide accurate care and handling of specimens and enforce strict asepsis

Demonstrate competency in the use of specialized surgical equipment (surgical beds, electrocautery, suction, video, positioning devices, point-of-care testing)

Monitor and confirm equipment readiness during surgeries

Complete and maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR

Inventory all countable items pre- and post-surgery to ensure safety
-
Maintain integrity of the sterile field; select and handle instruments, passing them to the surgeon as needed

Float to non-cardiac specialties when not assigned to cardiac cases
