NEW Lead Lactation Consultant Opportunity - Westchester County New York

Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts
Shifts: 8:00am–6:00pm or 10:00am–8:00pm (must be flexible for both)

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $122k – $157k/year

About the Role:
The Lead Lactation Consultant provides expert lactation care and leadership under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This role supports the mother-baby dyad across inpatient and outpatient settings, offers parental education, and collaborates with the healthcare team to maintain Baby-Friendly standards. The Lead Lactation Consultant also oversees lactation education programs for staff, monitors donor human milk processes, and supports quality initiatives. Leadership, clinical excellence, and ongoing professional growth are core expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and support lactation needs for mother-baby dyads

• Provide direct lactation care and serve as RN when needed

• Lead lactation education programs and staff development

• Facilitate prenatal classes and outpatient lactation support

• Ensure compliance with donor human milk policies and regulatory standards

• Support Baby-Friendly designation data collection, education, and compliance

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to support patient care

• Participate in infection prevention and performance improvement activities

• Maintain IBCLC credentials and continuing education requirements

• Manage breast pump rental program

• Act as resource for lactation-related issues for staff, physicians, and patients

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

• BSN required

• Current NY RN license

• IBCLC certification required (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant)

• BCLS, NRP, and ACLS required

• Knowledge of current nursing, lactation, and maternal-child health practices
