Job Summary

Nurse America is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-volume maternal care team in Houston, TX. The RN will collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process. This role offers professional growth within a supportive environment while managing diverse and rewarding clinical responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications & Certifications (Required)

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Active Texas RN license or active multi-state compact RN license (no stipulations)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 3–5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit and clinical standards

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care aligned with patient needs and professional standards
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and assist with examinations and treatments
• Educate patients and families throughout the continuum of care
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
• Implement and evaluate treatment, discharge, and transfer plans
• Delegate and coordinate care activities to support positive patient outcomes
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Texas Board of Nursing standards
• Promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
• Serve as a mentor or resource to less experienced staff as needed
• Perform additional duties within scope of practice
