Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant nursing experience
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a Medical Surgical Unit or equivalent setting
  • Experience with staff management, productivity oversight, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance preferred

License & Certification Requirements

Required

  • Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • BLS Certification (prior to employment)
  • ACLS Certification (prior to employment)

Required Within 6 Months of Hire

  • PALS Certification
  • TNCC or TCAR Certification

Preferred

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • CCRN, PCCN, or similar high-acuity certification

Future Requirement

  • NE-BC certification within 3 years of hire or when eligible

Compensation

  • Hourly: $53.00 - $60.95/hour
  • Annual Salary: $110,240 - $126,776

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Nursing Leader to oversee daily operations of a Medical Surgical Unit. This leadership role is responsible for patient care quality, staff supervision, workforce management, regulatory compliance, budgeting, recruitment, retention, education, and operational excellence.

The Manager will collaborate closely with nursing leadership, human resources, and clinical teams to ensure safe patient care, maintain accreditation readiness, support nursing professional development, and drive quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Med Surg Unit operations
  • Manage staffing and workforce productivity
  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and retain nursing staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and regulatory standards
  • Support budgeting and resource management
  • Oversee competency management and staff education
  • Participate in nursing leadership on-call rotation
  • Support nurse-sensitive quality initiatives
  • Coordinate float pool resources and staffing optimization
  • Maintain readiness for accreditation and audits
  • Occasionally provide direct patient care support as needed

  • Relocation to Grand Junction, CO 81505 is required before start date
