Job Summary

York Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join its night shift team in York, Maine. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Med Surg RN with prior medical-surgical experience and a strong clinical background in adult or orthopedic med-surg care.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. Telemetry experience is preferred, and candidates must hold an active nursing license along with required certifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients during the night shift
• Monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and respond appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments according to hospital protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Document patient care accurately and timely
• Support safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and timecard requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• Previous Medical Surgical experience required
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Must be able to work night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Must be available for every other weekend
• Must have a current license and meet all facility credentialing requirements
• Flu vaccine required by the State of Maine

Preferred Qualifications

• Telemetry experience preferred
• Experience in Med-Surg Adult or Med-Surg Ortho
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a hospital setting
