General job duties. Types of procedures required. This postion assumes responsibility, with guidance from clinical resource people, as needed, for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a nursing plan of care in response to the needs of his/her assigned patients, providing direct nursing care to these patients on a designated unit. Clinical nurses have the authority and are held accountable for decisions specific to the following areas of patient care management. Telemetry, IV therapy



2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) paper charting, Chartview, Saphire, Cerner, Exit Care, Omnicell



3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. IV Therapy, Telemetry monitoring, minimum 2 years medical surgical experience



4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) BLS, Telemetry trained



5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) 36 hour weekly; every other weekend. Employee will not work alone and there is no call required



6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) Potentially yes, to other Med/Surg floors in the organization. High need in this department for overnight’s so this would not be anticipated often.



7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 20 bed unit



8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 7/1 based on acuity, we have a high ratio of skilled patients



9. Dress Code: Scrubs, clean, neat
