Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Colorado. The ideal candidate will have strong perioperative experience and the ability to work effectively in both circulating and scrub roles within a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive preoperative patient assessments.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized perioperative nursing care plans.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
• Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and operative site before surgery.
• Position patients appropriately and assist with patient transport to and from the operating room.
• Conduct and document surgical counts of instruments, sharps, and sponges.
• Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures.
• Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Assist with post-operative patient evaluations and recovery processes.
• Maintain a safe and clean surgical environment before, during, and after procedures.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of surgical experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
