Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel contract opportunity in Hilo, Hawaii. The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for adult behavioral health patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support safe, patient-centered outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor behavioral health patients.
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Document accurately within the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Perform Charge Nurse duties when assigned.
• Maintain patient safety using crisis prevention techniques.

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN License required by assignment start date (candidates without a Hawaii license may apply upon offer acceptance but must obtain licensure before starting).
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric RN experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current NCI or other approved Crisis Prevention certification.
• Experience working with adult psychiatric patients.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Travelers must arrive on Thursday before the scheduled start date to complete the required Employee Health appointment on Friday.
• Guaranteed hours are not specified.
• Holiday coverage is required.
• 1099 contractors are not accepted.
