Med-Surg / Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN / Registered Nurse)

NEW Med-Surg / Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) | Direct Hire

Seeking a skilled Med-Surg / Telemetry RN to join a supportive acute care unit with strong resources and balanced patient ratios. This role is ideal for nurses with telemetry experience who value teamwork, clinical variety, and consistent scheduling.

Compensation & Incentives:

• Hourly Pay: $31 – $47/hour (based on experience and specialty)

• Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 after 90 days + $5,000 after 1 year

• Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 (typically paid on first paycheck)

Schedule:

• 3×12-hour shifts

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

  • Days: Saturday & Sunday

  • Nights: Friday & Saturday

Unit Overview:

• 18-bed Telemetry unit with 6 PCU-capable beds

• All private rooms

• Mixed-use unit (may care for COVID patients with temporary walls and specialized air handling)

• Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy available 24/7

Staffing & Ratios:

• RN ratios:

  • Telemetry: 1:4

  • PCU/Stepdown: 1:3

• Charge nurse on unit 24/7 (may take 0–2 patients as needed)

• Support staff: Telemetry techs, PCTs, CNAs, and Health Unit Secretaries

• CNAs split the unit, caring for up to 9 patients each

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide care for telemetry and acute Med-Surg patients

• Validate telemetry interpretations and document rhythm assessments every 4 hours or as needed

• Administer cardiac and critical medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, Integrillin, Octreotide, and Protonix

• Care for patients with diagnoses such as AMI, Stroke/TIA, A-fib RVR, Pneumonia, Renal failure (dialysis), SIRS, and Diabetes

• Float to other Med-Surg units as needed

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Minimum 1 year of Telemetry experience required (2 years preferred)

• Experience in an acute care Med-Surg setting required

• Strong cardiac monitoring and assessment skills
