MedSurg (Medical-Surgical-Orthopedic-Telemetry)

The practice of Medical-Surgical Nursing requires specialized knowledge and clinical skills to manage actual or potential health problems that affect individuals, their significant other(s), and the community. Our medical-surgical nursing services are provided to clients from early adulthood and throughout the life span.

Medical-Surgical Nursing is the single largest nursing specialty in the United States. Our nurses practice primarily in our medical-surgical and orthopedic inpatient units. They care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical issues. We also care for patients recovering from hip, knee, or shoulder replacement surgery. They provide care 24/7 and have more facetime with patients than any other professional in the hospital.

Candidates: Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure. Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program. At least one year acute care experience. ACLS and telemetry experience preferred.
