Full-time Nurse Manager needed at a critical access hospital in Northeastern Oregon!
Great area surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges, rural ranching community and lots of outdoor activities.

Nurse Manager (Med Surgical, ER, OB, Surgical Services)
JOB SUMMARY: Leads the frontline nursing staff and deliver excellent patient care and experience. Will be responsible for creating an environment of patient-centered care by defining evidenced based standards for quality patient care, managing and developing work-based teams for assigned shifts, training staff and providing leadership to our nursing team in the medical surgical, ER, OB, transitional care and surgical services units.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the continual delivery of high quality nursing care through implementation of evidence-based practices and standards.
- Maintains evidence base nursing guidelines by developing, implementing and revising nursing policies and procedures.
- Monitors patient care to ensure it meet's the hospital standards and review records to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of the care provided in each unit.
- Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting qualified staff.
- Selects, monitors and assesses clinical nursing staff, and sets up standards for accomplishing quality healthcare delivery; and maintains work assessment system for staff within the departments.
- Maintains documentation standards of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.
- Achieves financial objectives by assisting in the preparation of an operational and capital budget, staffing and productivity, analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying equipment availability, troubleshooting malfunctions, tagging and removing malfunctioning equipment from service for repairs.
- Maintains patient care supplies by studying usage reports, identifying trends, anticipating needed supplies, approving requisitions and cost allocations.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, attending webinars, establishing professional networks, participates in professional organizations.
- Ensure nursing staff remains in compliance with licensure, certifications, professional development, and regulatory standards.
- Designs and implements performance improvement project within the unit that improves the quality of care and the experience for patients and families.
- Organizes problem solving and effective communication systems for departments and serves as a connection between the ancillary department and the medical staff.
- Acts as a resource person, interpreting, supporting and executing procedures and policies.
- Establish & maintain solid work relationships through communication, cooperation, and positive interaction with all employees, staff, patients and physicians.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handles all the supervisory duties for the units, overseeing the nursing staff and support staff.
- Complete the work schedules, delegate assignments, assign tasks and evaluate job performance as well as disciplining employees who do not fulfill their job requirements or provide adequate patient care.
- Set goals and standards for the unit and hold regular staff meetings which they provide communication and direction which leads to discussion for areas for improvement.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
*Required: Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of nursing management experience in an acute care setting
*Preferred: Master's Degree in healthcare management or nursing

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
*Required: RN License, in good standing with State of Oregon
*Preferred: BLS Certification
