Matrix Providers is potentially hiring a Strength and Conditioning Specialist to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
- Employment Status: Full time
- Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM-5:00 PM

Requirements: The Strength and Conditioning Specialist must have and meet the following:
- Degree/Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS). Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
- Board Certification: The Contractor shall possess and maintain current
certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the Strength & Conditioning
Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches
association (CSCCA). Shall possess a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
specialty certification. Maintenance of one of these certifications shall be an enduring
requirement element. - Experience: The contractor shall have a minimum of 5 years or more of verifiable
accumulated post-professional experience in developing long and short-range planning
and coordination of sport/mission-specific performance programs resulting in
attributable results with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of
NCAA Division I Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or Special
Operations/AFSPECWAR Operators in the respective accompanying settings.
Job Summary:
- Attend, participate in, and promote interdisciplinary meetings with HPO staff,
medical staff, and chain of command. - Literately utilize computers, software, and technologies as required and requested by the
HPO program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by AFSPECWAR, AFRC or
308 RQS Leadership. - Plan, develop and synchronize technical training, guidance, and programmatic and policy
recommendations. Secure, protect, and enhance the readiness of all operators across the
range of military operations. - Coordinate training programs with the HPO staff to ensure a safe and expeditious return
to training of 308 RQS personnel recovering from injury. - Utilizes screening information to develop pre-habilitation protocol and interventions if
needed. - Assist in the development of the unit’s rehabilitation system in accordance with all local,
state, and national laws and regulations, as well as licensing and insurance certification.
Reviews and evaluates physician's referrals and patients' records to determine physical
therapy treatment requirements. - Performs patient tests, measurements and evaluations and record findings to aid in
developing and/or revising specifics of the treatment program or training program. - Participate in periodic meetings with HPO for reasons such as, but not limited to,
reviewing care provided to patients. Identify opportunities for improvement. - Design and implement physical training programs for personnel who are TDY/
TAD or deployed. - Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises,
movements, and injury avoidance. - Refer all personnel with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to a
medical provider for evaluation and treatment. - Participate in periodic meetings to review and evaluate physical training programs and
identify opportunities for improvement.
