Experienced Neurosurgery NP needed for stepdown unit in Chicago IL
Start date is ASAP for 3-6 months with option to extend

In general, the types of patients we encounter on stepdown/floor:
*Pre and post-op spinal patients
*Spinal patients can be simple ACDF or lumbar lami
*Can also be more complex (for example: L2-pelvis fusion or anterior & posterior fusions)
*Diagnostic angiograms (responsible for orders and discharging )
*Patients transferred from ICU may include:
*Patients w SAH s/p treatment
*Patients w ICH
*Patient w SDH
*Patients w intracranial stenosis
*Patients s/p thrombectomy or intra-arterial t PA
*Patients with wound infections
*Patients w NPH
*Patients w pituitary lesions (pre –op as well as post-op – after ICU)
*Patients w HCP or VPS malfunction
*Patients w Pseudotumor cerebri
IL license and DEA - ACLS and BLS are required.
Neuro Step-down unit is a 26-bed unit dedicated to intermediate neurological care from headaches to strokes.
