Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Prevention to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.

  • Role: Implement the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
  • Compensation: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour + $5000 Sign on Bonus
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Prevention minimum qualifications:

  • Degree: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health,
    Epidemiology or Microbiology from a nationally recognized accredited college
    program. Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of current experience in infection prevention
    and control performed within the past four (4) years.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (current AHA or ARC in person course)
Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Prevention Core Job Duties: Program Development and Management:
  • Perform an annual self-inspection to determine facility compliance.
  • Provides assessment of IPC program to the IPCF Chair.
  • Develops the annual Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA).
  • Develops and coordinates the annual Infection Prevention and Control Program Plan (IPCPP).
  • Develops and coordinates the IPCP Annual Summary.
Meeting Coordination and Documentation:
  • Plans and develops the IPCF agenda.
  • Completes and files meeting minutes per MTF policy.
Compliance and Surveillance:
  • Performs IPC-related surveillance.
  • Assists in reviewing and revising IPC relevant MTF Operating Instructions (OIs).
  • Verifies current standards are implemented throughout the MTF.
Collaboration and Liaison:
  • Advises and collaborates on IPC-related issues with various staff/groups.
  • Liaises with installation Air Reserve Component (ARC) Medical Units.
  • Consults with other MTF IPs, SG IP Consultant, and HQ IP (AFMOA).
Education and Training:
  • Participates in quality/performance improvement (PI) and patient safety (PS) activities.
  • Educates staff on Multi-Drug Resistant Organisms (MDROs) and antimicrobial use.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
  • Applies epidemiologic principles and statistical methods.
  • Utilizes databases, graphs, and reports.
  • Interprets diagnostic and laboratory reports.
  • Identifies epidemiologically significant organisms.
Risk Reduction and Antimicrobial Stewardship:
  • Collaborates on risk reduction and error prevention strategies.
  • Interprets and translates data from antibiograms.
  • Coordinates interprofessional effort to improve antimicrobial stewardship.
Facility Management and Consultation:
  • Advises on facility renovations, construction, and repair projects.
  • Identifies IPC efforts required before construction or renovation begins.
