Job Description

Title: Clinical Nurse

Job Purpose: Providing medically prescribed infusion therapy to patients with acute and chronic conditions.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical specialty involving infusion therapy
  • BLS
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice

Essential Duties:

  • Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess and care for patients
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in a professional, ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate manner
  • Provide disease and drug specific education to patients and caregivers
  • Comply with HIPAA and ACHC regulations
  • Participate in on-call rotation as assigned for AIC nurses
  • Travel to outlying clinics as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services
  • Accurately perform all nursing duties according to the state nurse practice act while adhering to company policies and procedures including, but not limited to: accessing and maintaining central lines and PIVS, obtaining lab specimens, collecting vital signs, safely administering intravenous and injectable medications as ordered by prescribing physicians, documenting patient care, responding to and accurately reporting adverse drug reactions, and assisting with administrative duties as needed

Other Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR software, payroll software, and all other software programs.
  • Must uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent while adhering to and complying with HIPAA at all times.
  • Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cultural and language differences.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work Environment:

  • Normal office conditions exist, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from low to moderate.
  • Travel between business locations and limited overnight travel may be required from time to time.
